Muuri paint by Tikkurila is a popular choice among our customers for masonry fireplaces, where color stability of the coating on warm masonry is essential. It has recently undergone a significant change, with the original MSA base being replaced by the new KSA base. This brings wider tinting possibilities and improved technical properties.

The transition to the new KSA base brings several significant improvements. While the original base allowed tinting into 8 colors, the new KSA base offers up to 25 shades, greatly expanding the color selection options.

Another improvement is the increased coverage – the paint now covers 4–6 m²/l, resulting in a more efficient outcome with fewer coats. The in-can stability has also been enhanced, meaning the paint retains its properties for a longer time after opening. Additionally, it offers better hiding power, allowing the desired finish to be achieved with fewer layers.

The Tikkurila Muuri product with the new KSA base is now in stock at our warehouse. We kindly ask you to pay attention to the product you are ordering or tinting to avoid confusion.
If you plan to tint Muuri products with the new KSA base, don't forget to update your machine’s database to version 16 using the Innovatint program. The original Muuri products (MSA base) are available in the program under the designation MUURI (Old).

Tikkurila Muuri is a heat-resistant paint designed for interior surfaces, especially fireplaces and chimney walls. It stands out for its ability to withstand high temperatures—up to 180°C for painted finishes and up to 300°C in dry applications. It is suitable for mineral surfaces such as brick, concrete, and plaster, making it a versatile product for both new and previously painted areas.

It has recently transitioned to a water-based formula, which improves its environmental properties, reduces volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, and makes application and cleaning easier.
