For several years, Dejmark has been sponsoring the restoration of both the exterior and interior of the Čiernohronská Railway carriages. This unique historical monument is a popular tourist attraction in Slovakia. Every year, it transports tens of thousands of passengers on three routes through the beautiful landscape of the Slovenské Rudohorie.

Project Preparation and Implementation

When we arrived in Čierny Balog in May 2024, we knew we were about to experience something extraordinary. Two iconic carriages were waiting for us on the tracks, having become a cult symbol thanks to their role in the film Nevera po slovensky.
Before our arrival, the carriages were blasted by Met-Kov, preparing them for a new life. Over the course of three days, from May 27 to 29, nine members of our team worked with great enthusiasm on their restoration.

For the wooden surfaces of the carriages, we used Valtti Opaque paint in the shade RAL 6005. The metal parts were painted with brown Betolux in the shade RAL 8016. For the roof, we applied TEMADUR HB 50 polyurethane paint, which contains anticorrosive pigments, in the shade RAL 7038. The undercarriage was treated with a semi-gloss black paint, Temalac FD50.

Dejmark is incredibly proud to be part of the Čiernohronská Railway restoration project. Our collaboration not only helps preserve historical value but also offers tourists an authentic experience of riding in historic carriages.
Next year, we face another exciting challenge: the restoration of a steam locomotive. This project fills us with enthusiasm and anticipation, as we know it will be demanding and require a great deal of effort.
We thank everyone who is working with us on this project and look forward to future challenges and collaborations!
